Snouse BlackBox Overdrive 2

Developed with the aid of a handful of professional session guitarists, and designed with stage and studio players in mind, our brand new flagship model features all the same fully-external switching capabilities of the External Switch Mod version, with access to on-the-fly switching between Modes, Drive settings, and Voicing (Bright/Smooth) settings - PLUS a fourth external toggle: the new Deep/Tight Voicing switch. 

What does it do? Toggle up in Standard Mode, and the Deep setting flattens out the midrange and enhances the low end, for a fuller-spectrum frequency spread — like playing an amp through a closed-back 4x12" cab. Toggle down in Standard Mode, and the Tight setting tightens up the low-end and sweetens the midrange character — a lot more like playing through an open-back combo amp — for a tighter, punchier drive that cuts straight through the mix at stage volumes and live settings. Also useful for avoiding low-end flub with smaller amps. In conjunction with the Bright/Smooth Voicing switch, the Deep/Tight Voicing not only gives you huge control of your high- and low-ends, respectively, but also an iron fist on the midrange — flip both Voicing toggles up for a flatter response throughout the entire frequency range; flip both Voicing toggles down for a smooth, punchy British mid-hump character. 

Strongly recommended for live/stage musicians and studio/session musicians, and suggested for guitarists who play with small amps, or big, bassy amps with full bands at stage/rehearsal volumes — or guitarists who just like to put on some Jimi, crank it to 11 and turn up. The Stage Pro Mod blows open a door to a whole new range of tones not accessible with the standard model. 

The BlackBox Overdrive 2 is a hand-wired, 100% analog, natural tube-emulating overdrive, clean boost, and tone enhancement tool with a proprietary, completely transparent tube-emulating variable and switchable JFET pre-gain clean boost control to push your BlackBox into high gear, or to squeeze more volume or fatness out of the front end.

Features three switchable circuit modes - Standard (Hi-Gain), Classic (Lo-Gain), and Clean Boost.

External Gain, Tone, Volume, Presence, and pre-gain Boost knobs, plus internal Bright/Smooth Voicing and Mode switches - highly interactive controls that tap your signal in just the right places for a HUGE spectrum of both clean and overdrive tones out of just one box. 

Extremely dynamic and vocal, with just a hair of compression and that amp-on-the-edge feel in Overdrive Modes - play softly or lower your guitar's volume, and your signal cleans up well; dig in and that hot tube growl will sing. Just a touch of mids to help cut through the mix without destroying your tone, and enough flexibility and transparency to enhance almost any setup, never detracting from the nuance and feel of the rest of your rig.

Like to keep it simple? The BlackBox Overdrive 2 can be switched to Classic Mode to convert the entire circuit into that of the simple 3-knob BlackBox Overdrive Classic, but with way more output volume. Everything but the Gain, Tone, and Volume controls can be deactivated. New for V2 - not available in 2016 models.
