Gibson Custom chose a very special Les Paul Standard to model the Collector's Choice #3 1960 Les Paul "The Babe" solidbody electric guitar after. "The Babe" is based on an incredibly well-preserved Les Paul Standard owned by the legendary Joe Bonamassa, sporting an unusual combination of '59 features on a 1960 guitar. The classic mahogany body, maple top, and mahogany neck with maple spline are all present, but certain features like the chunkier '59 standard neck set this Les Paul apart from typical 1960 models. Also, Joe's original "Babe" is one of the few Les Paul Standards verified to have a factory-ordered Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, which you'll also find on this highly collectible instrument.
